This exciting excursion will see your students immersed in the rich biodiversity of the Kamay Botany Bay National Park bushland and beach habitats. Using the geographical inquiry process students will observe first-hand the unique features of the dry eucalypt forest and sandy beaches on the Kurnell Peninsular. Students will use a variety of fieldwork tools and record their evidence, observations and investigations discovered during the bushwalk in their field journals. This will lead to an understanding of the importance of the national park, why it is valued by people and how it can be sustainably managed into the future. Monday 25th March (3/4S and 3/4R + 9 4N students) Thursday 28th March (3/4D and 3/4Z + 10 4N students)

The NSW Department of Education School Swimming Scheme is an intensive learn to swim program, which develops water confidence and provides students with basic skills in water safety and survival. The Scheme is conducted over nine days. Each daily lesson is 45 minutes. Arrangements have been made to include a learn to swim program in our school curriculum. Students who have not reached a satisfactory standard of water safety and survival skills and are unable to swim 25m confidently unaided in deep water, are eligible to participate in the School Swimming Scheme. The Scheme focuses on weak swimmers in Years 2 and 3 but provides for weak swimmers in Years 4 to 6. The location of the Swimming Scheme will be Roselands Pool. The Swimming Scheme will take place Term 1 (weeks 10 and 11) from Tuesday 2nd April to Friday 12th April from 1.30pm to 2.20pm. Buses will depart school at 1pm and return to school by 3.00pm. The cost of the 9 day program is $130.00, which includes pool entry and bus fare. This year we have enough places for 40 students to participate in the 2024 Swimming Scheme. The first 40 students who return their permission note to the office will be selected. If you have not been accepted, your child will go on a waitlist. If selected, you will receive an invoice to pay $130.00 via School Bytes.
